Eventually, Exotica (in the form of Astra) said: "Earlier, before I was
sent to the dungeon, I saw you in the distance and asked Lord Fred who that
handsome man was. He told me that it was Captain Artur." Captain Artur frowned. Something wasn't right here. How could Astra and Fred could have seen him without his having seen them. Besides, Exotica had paused altogether too long before replying. "You sound like you have been coached. Did Belboz tell you who I was and what to say to me?" Belboz felt panic rising up his throat, but maybe this situation could be salvaged. "I am so sorry, Captain," he said, soothingly. "I knew she was bored down here so I have been teaching her all about the workings of Caemlyn. It was just something to do during my breaks." Captain Artur shook his head. "No dice, Belboz. That doesn't sound like you. If I even think that you have been mistreating the princess and coercing her to put a good face on things..." "No, its true," said Exotica. "I begged him to talk to me, just to have anyone to talk to. Anyone at all. I asked about castle gossip, but eventually all we had to talk about was castle staff. You have to believe him, he didn't do anything wrong." "I am sorry about the lie," said Belboz, "but I did not know how giving her information, even such innocent information as what we discussed, would be viewed." "Quite rightly!" said Captain Artur, nodding. This made sense to him. "However, I suppose no harm is done. Belboz, are you sure that she has been chained up here the whole time? She hasn't escaped, even for a short period?" Belboz cackled, pointing at her chains. "Those are enchanted, Captain, and she has gone nowhere. None can free her without me knowing. I have kept a close eye." "Very good," said the Captain. "Princess, do you have anything to say to me before I move on? Are you being treated well?"
