Ten dirty, exhausted soldiers are reporting in to a lieutenant near the
Allarian border. Her uniform is dingy as well, as she has been rounding up
Allarians all night, several of whom had no interest in returning. The ten
soldiers represented over two dozen sent to find four missing orphan
teenagers. "Give me good news," said Lt. Ashe. "I need good news. We have everyone but those thrice-damned teenagers." "Sorry," wheezed one of the soldiers, grimacing. "They left a trail for a while and then it was gone. Just... gone. The rest of the men are still looking, but it's hopeless. We have nothing to follow." "By the goddess!" swore the Lieutenant. "Ok, this is what we are going to do. No one else knows they are missing but my company. So, we just don't record them at all. We can always claim later that it is a clerical error if it comes up, which we had all better hope it doesnt." The soldiers were dismissed, and Ashe modified the necessary paperwork. "This had better work, or there will be hell to pay," she muttered, going to turn in her 'completed' papers.
