Astra had to agree, for she had been suffering intolerably for the last hour as well. They used the ointment on each other, after Fred cleaned up the vile effluence from his burst sore, and in the blessed relief of the ointment were able to fall into a deep sleep.

It has been said by some that when it rains, it pours. This was definitely one of those times, for as Lord Fred and Astra slept, they were surrounded by bandits. Times were tough, with all of the strangeness in Allaria, and these bandits, run by a leader they called "Count Greenholt" (his nobility was doubted), had attracted many young people struggling to survive. The bandits took their horses, gear, even (unintentionally) their ointment.

Astra awoke first, pain from a fresh sore jolting her awake.

1. The bandits, along with all of their things, are gone.
2. The bandits are still in their camp, with crossbows trained on Astra and Lord Fred.
