At that point Mira comes in. She had seen Alex go up the stairs, and wants
to check that she is not bothering Astra. "There you are!" she says,
grabbing her by the ear. This causes Alex to drop the knife, and swiftly
Astra grabs it off the floor and puts it behind her back. "Sorry she was
bothering you, dear, won't happen again." Alex turns a baleful glare upon
Mira as she is drug out of the room. Astra knows that this bodes ill for the kindly Mira so she leaves her room and follows them downstairs. "Wait, Mira, just a moment," she calls out. When she catches up, she makes a decision. "I need to talk to Alex for a second. Can i have a minute?" "Absolutely, dear," then, directed at Alex, "make sure you go to bed when she is done with you. You hear me?" she then smiles and walks off. "You just saved that woman's life," says Alex with that odd voice. "but if you do not come with me I kid you not I will slay her. I will slay her, and you will be responsible. I will then slay this child, and you will be responsible for that as well. If you run, I will slay every one in this town. Their blood will be on your hands. What say you?" Astra swallows hard, she had not anticipated that Fred would go from crazy to bloodthirsty. She has to make a decision, and she has to make it now.
