"People of Allaria," said Reaibn, his voice magically enhanced to carry
throughout the realm, so that all could hear the ceremony. Indeed, the sky
itself carried the image all throughout Allaria of the center square. "hear
my words." Reaibn broke the seal on a scroll, and began to read it. "I, Reaibn, First Advisor For Life of the Sovereign Kingdom of Allaria and all of its various holdings and territories and so forth and so on, present to you Lord Fredrigo d'Honaire, the 11th Duke of Suffex, Farmoor, and Umbria, Grand Commander of the Knights of the Orange, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the diverse gilds and joint-stock companies of Allaria and all subject fiefs, and coolest warrior in ye kingdom, by the grace of the Lord." Lord Fred sweated in his new cavalier outfit, as Reaibn held up an odd flimsy looking crown. It looked completely fake, like some kind of child's toy, except for a blood-red gem on the front. "By divine choice, and right, and because I say so and no one else would know better anyway because after all I am the First Advisor and we don't have time to discuss it and let's just all agree to do what I have already decided, by all those reasons and more, many more, take my word for it, I now appoint Lord Fredrigo d'Honaire King of the High Kingdom, also known as the Great Kingdom, of Allaria, ruler of all of its territories, holdings, and so forth. From this day until the day of his death he shall be the Law of Laws, the Ruler of Rulers, and the person who tells you what to do and by god you do it if you know what is good for you. Behold, your king!" The crowd went wild as Reaibn placed the crown upon Fred's head. As he did so, he whispered, "I am so sorry, they made me do it," and panic had about two seconds to climb up Fred's throat before a cooling sensation went from the red gem throughout his body. No longer was he sweating, he felt a surge of confidence, and on impulse drew his sword and shouted at the sky. "Allaria! Your king greets you!" and again, throughout the realm, everyone cheered in joy. Astra was a bit worried, Fred really seemed to be getting into the role he needed to play. "Now," said King Fred, "lets party!" And so the liquor flowed. Reaibn escorted Fred out of the square to meet Astra, and they joined the festivities. As they approached the Royal Table, Fred spoke, "Reaibn," he asked, "what is up with this crown? I have felt, different, since you put it on me." "Ah that," said Reaibn, having a seat in the chair next to King Fred. "That is from the sealed vault of magical artifacts buried deep beneath the Shreken mountains. It is the Crown of Akarfen, an ancient relic. And no, I don't know what it does. It is definitely magical though, I didn't give you a boring old crown. " Reaibn's eyes spoke of a regret he could not utter.
