Belboz sat in his chair and brooded. It had been far too long since the
dragon had summoned him. His last two attempts to gain an audience had been
met with stubborn refusal by the dragon's underlings, and no amount of
wheedling or coercion had worked to get him in. To make matters once, all his attempts to read the future had been clouded. No methods were working, from magic ritual to arcane device to seeking advice from the nether worlds. It was as if he was being blocked... Was it possible that the dragon had figured out that Belboz knew he was in fact not a dragon at all but the powerful magus Minestus? Had his attempts to access and siphon power off one of the ley lines been detected? Surely not, or he would already be dead. "Unacceptable," Belboz muttered, taking another sip of his mulled wine. There was nothing for it.. the dragon was going to come after him. So, only two options: fight or flight. If he attempted to flee, the dragon would surely send assassins after him. So, his choice is no choice at all. He must fight. "Too powerful," said Belboz, refilling his mulled wine from the huge bucket he had prepared on the table. "I can't take the dragon in a fair fight." "Then lets make it an unfair fight," said Astra striding into the room. "Belboz," and then she bowed. "Good day. I have a proposition for you."
