"Your next task," said the dragon, "is to slay Belboz. He has grown more
and more insolent and less and less useful. Slay him, and they shall go
free." Astra gritted her teeth, doubting the dragons words. But, she could not take the chance, unless... "Oh mighty dragon," she said, "I will of course do what you ask, but how do I know that you will fulfill your end of the bargain?" "You don't," said the dragon, scoffing. "you just have to do what you are told, and trust that they will be released unharmed." Astra knew this was her only chance. "Then you midaswell kill me," she said, kneeling before the dragon. "I am dead anyway." "What do you mean?" said the dragon, irritated by this turn of events. He really needed Belboz dead, and for various reasons could not be bothered to do it himself. "Belboz is powerful in magic. If I go up against him I am likely going to die. If I manage to best him, I will likely still be severely injured at best. I will be unfit for further tasks. If you are not going to release my sisters, then I would just as well die by your hand now. The dragon spurted a tiny gout of flame, "Bah!" he exclaimed. "Fine, so be it, I will enter into geas with you. If you kill Belboz, and bring me proof of his demise, you and your sisters will be released." "Immediately, and unharmed by you or anyone or thing you work for, with, or are in any way associated with," insisted Astra, provoking a mini fit from the dragon. "You annoying human!" he said, glaring at Astra with hate in his eyes. "Fine! Yes, it is as you say." Astra then felt a warming sensation cover her body, followed by a chill as if being submerged in ice. She gasped, but recovered quickly. "I will head out immediately," she said, rising to her feet and bowing once more. She then left the room.
