The Never Ending Quest - Episode 6858

While Fred was scarfing down his breakfast, Belboz followed Avery out the
door. What greeted his eyes amazed him: The house was no longer on the
yellow stone road, it was no longer surrounded by lush plant life of
various colors and shapes, even the eleven (formerly twelve) dwarves were
not there. The house now stood upon a height. There was a dark path
leading from the house, winding down towards the base of the small hill.
At the base was another building, a series of small houses really. There
were a few carriages parked to the side of the homes below, but Belboz saw
no other people; he didn't even see Avery!
Belboz turned this way and that wondering what was going on and what exactly he should do. All was quiet except for the chirping of some strange red-beaked bird, and even that was done quietly. He thought of going back inside and telling Fred, but he decided against it. He walked, rather cautiously, down the road made of black rock. All was quiet and this bothered Belboz much, he rather enjoyed the sounds of gaieties and fist fights. He heard a noise then, the sound of a slamming door. He ran towards the sound just wanting to speak with another being. When he reached the row of small one- or two-room houses he saw that the third one down had its wooden door swinging as if it had just been opened. He slowly walked towards it wondering what he was going to find. ~~Ah stop the strange imaginings!~~ thought Belboz to himself. ~~We're talking about a dingy farm girl. Its not like I'm gonna find some ten foot ogre or a one-eyed blaht or even a pixie...at least I hope there aren't any pixies here, damn cannibalistic freaks!~~ Then Belboz, conquering his fear and anxiety of pixies, opened the door to the room and entered. Even as the door closed the red-beaked bird flew to a signpost that was half-hidden by a half-dead oak. Upon the sign were the words: Welcome to the Bates' Home for Travelers.
