"And... what is that all about?" questioned Astra, who then received an exasperated look from Lord Fred which she promptly ignored.

"Oh yes! You are foreigners and not knowledgeable of our ways. Basically," Mendo cleared his throat, "there was this giant monkey that terrorized the countryside. He was intelligent, and demanded people to eat. He ruled our area for decades until finally we slayed him. Now every year we celebrate his death with a massive parade."

"Really?" said Lord Fred, doubtfully.

1. "No, I am just effing with you. It's new years." said Mendo, with a twinkle in his eye.
2. "Hell no!" and then Mendo laughed. "The Monkey was the derisive name we gave the former dictator here. He was deposed long ago."
3. "Yes, absolutely," said Mendo with a flat stare. "And it's not funny. That monkey killed many good folk."
