Ripley and Dallas ran forward and towards a tunnelhead to the
left. "C'mon you idiot!" cried out Dallas. Fred was so amazed by what he
had just seen and by the sincerity of the fear etched into the strangers'
faces that he ran after them. After some time of running the two warriors
stopped and Fred had a chance to catch his breath.
"Wh- who- who are you? what wer- were in tho- those eggs? and what are we run- run- running from?" "No time," said Dallas. "We need to wound it, slow it down some more from here... otherwise we're gonners." With little instruction Fred followed their example at creating a defensive position. Whatever was following them would have to come through the only aperture available: the one directly behind them. Dallas and Ripley readied their crossbows while Fred held his sword. "Don't let its blood touch you," whispered Ripley. "It'll burn right through your armor, your jerkin, and right through you."
