Frozen In time People

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 582

Fred encountered a badly lit room. Dozens of pillars fill the place. Each was five feet wide and clear as ice. But it wasn't ice. It was frozen time. It glowed internally with a faint pink and smelt liked elderberries. Fred recognized the signs of frozen time from the little bits that the Court Magician Rincewind had in his lab.
Rincewind only froze mice or snakes or floglogs. But people were trapped in here.
There was the popular Bard Terri Pradchut! And the mayor of Capitol Town, Josh Burbank! (The youngest mayor ever, at age 24). Even the popular opera singer Enya. Fred noticed she had been caught up in billowy, pink bedclothes. And Josh was in pajamas also. (Terri was just buck-naked). Somebody caught these guys while they were asleep.
Fred was confused. What was going on here?

  1. Try and free Pradchut.
  2. Investigate the room more fully.
  3. Fred is trapped in a column of frozen time.
  4. Burbank's column evaporates and he falls to the floor.
