Walk Down the Centaur of the Path

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 57026

Lord Fred - or rather, Fred the Centaur - ruled out the path to his left as being too narrow for his new bulk and turned instead to trot down the path of darkness on the right. Walking was becoming as easy and natural as riding his horse, and as such he found the rhythm of his clip-clop -ing hooves soothing. As he swayed with the natural flow of his walk, Fred felt as though he was simply riding his trusty steed, though without any saddle-sores. Again he finds himself thinking that, of all the possible ways he could have gotten into trouble with careless use of magic, becoming a centaur was probably the best bad thing that could have happened to him.

Fred absently lights another torch from his pack as he continues along the relatively smooth rock corridor. So far, the worst thing about the tunnel has been the simple fact that no natural light penetrated this deep under the earth. Well, that and the realization that horse hooves aren't the best for walking on exposed rock. As his feet begin to get sore, Fred resolves to get himself shod as soon as he can.

Lord (was it right to continue to think of himself as lord?) Fred decides to pause a moment to rest his feet. Forgetting himself, he tries to dismount his horse, and very nearly falls as he trips over his own equine legs.

Ah, well. He leans against the rock wall only to discover...

  1. ...the rock wall was just a loose pile blocking a new passage.
  2. ...he's been here already - this passage was leading him in circles!
  3. ...he can hear something BIG moving down the tunnel
  4. ...he's hungry
  5. ...fresh air coming from somewhere up ahead.
