The Pointy Stick

"Hey," Fred replied, "I'm a knight. I much prefer killing other humans. In fact, I wouldn't shed a tear if all the dragons in the world dropped dead tomorrow. I'd probably throw a party. But it looks like that's not in the cards, so I'll guess I'll have to do it the old fashioned way and stick my sword up its--"

"WAIT!" Belboz suddenly cried. "I may not be able to kill the Dragon for you, but I can give you a magical advantage." Belboz whipped out a pointy stick. "This pointy stick has been subjected to numberous spells and incantations. The Dragon's scaly hide is defensless against it."

"But that's what my sword is for," Fred said, looking doubtfully at the pointy stick. Belboz shook the pointy stick at him, "But your sword is only effective against the Dragon's one vulnerable spot that is found somewhere on his lower belly. But this stick will slice clean through him like a hot knife through butter no matter where you strike at him!"

Fred looked at the pointy stick with a new appreciation. "Huh," he grunted softly.
