"Well, Sir Fred," says the magician, "such a spell is technically possible.
Assassination spells have been done before. Fairly common, actually,
between royal courtiers jockeying for their sovereign's favor, or would-be
usurpers. But," Belboz holds up an admonitory finger, "they require months
of preparation, taking body samples in order to cast the spell from a
distance, months which, to judge from your expression, you do not have.
But, hey, no worries, pardner," Belboz beams, "I have a simple solution, to
slay this dragon of yours. We find the beast and I can dispose of it for
you. Sounds good?" Fred nods. "Good. Now, what I want in return is the
dragon's body. For experimental reasons, you understand." "What experiments?" asks Fred uncertainly. "What good's a dead dragon?" "Well, ma always said the only good dragon's a dead one. Heh. But no, seriously, it's because no one's ever been able to figure out how their bodieso produce fire. I want to be the first." He grins resolutely into the horizon. He shakes his head, breaking out of his reverie, then says, "All right. Shall we go?"
