"Okay," Turoc-Kith finally says as the griffin fades from view on the magic mirror. "It's obvious that the fool had no useful information. I want to know why you....did that."
Zerm chuckled and looked at the patiently awaiting ghosts.
"You, of all people, know where I'm from and how old I am," Zerm says quietly. "I was there the night the land of Atlantis sank. I saw the destruction of my homeland. And it was all do to people like that SLUG I just sent away!" The last part is delivered in a thundering roar of rage.
"I don't believe in a higher order," Zerm says softly. "I don't feel the need to conform to lesser people's mores, but I'll be damned if I'll tolerate jackal like that.
"If he'd even had one useful bit of information that we already hadn't gathered, I'd have at least sent him on his merry way," Zerm sighs. "But the fool came with no coins for payment....except for entertainment value."
"I hope you were entertained," Dr. Vincent mutters. "But, now, about your plans for the Alliance in stopping the cure of the Phage?"
"Simple," Zerm smiled. "I've not been spending all my time just playing like a little child, you know. I have finally unlocked the secret of the Phage....and can replicate and alter it.
