Child's Play
The Never Ending Quest - Episode 4993

Whatever kind of magic this was, Fred wanted nothing to do with it. He
wasn't sure if his eyes were deceiving him or if his mind was playing
tricks or if his body had bounded through some sort of portal, but his
task was simple: kill the Dragon. The only way to do that was to return
to the caves. Fred walked to the door set in the man-sized building.
Before he could re-enter a small child ran up to him and hugged his left
leg.
"Oh, Sire, could you play with me?" This startled the knight to say the least, but whether this child was real or only the figment of some sorcerer's imagination, Fred had his mission. "No." The child did a most unexpected thing, at least from Fred's perspective; the child bit him! With a yelp Fred looked down and saw that the child, who had opened his mouth to get in a second bite, had a mouth filled with razor-sharp teeth! He kicked the child from off his leg and ran into the building. Once inside he kept on running for he had broken the door previously and could not close it if the "child" desired to chase after him. Fred's leg was bleeding but it didn't seem that an artery was slashed. As Fred gathered his energies behind a stalagmite in a tertiary tunnel he wondered what other deadly surprises the Southern Caves might hold.
