"So..." said the sword after a moment. "How are you going to shut me up?
"Yak, yak, yak, yak." Fred muttered. He was really in a bind. He wouldn't dream of fighting the dragon without the sword. The magician had left his spell book beyond but Fred would have been a fool to try and touch it again. Most decent spell books had intruder-repelling spells.
Fred kicked some pebbles at the sword. It made a fart sound.
What does Fred do now?

  1. Fred negotiates with the sword. If it helps him, it's mind will be transfered (via the court magician, who owes Fred) into the body of a golem, a mindless humanoid.
  2. Fred tries to negotiate with his sword but it's is obstinate and rude.
  3. Fred leaves the sword.
