Lord Fred knew that wizards were eccentric. A volcano would be a perfect
place for a crazy wizard hideout. So, Fred set off. His journey took
several days, and it was on the third day that Fred noticed that he had no
water. This was a problem. He kept swallowing his own spit, but this left something to be desired, and it was rapidly drying up. Lord Fred began actively searching for water, but he wasn't exactly wilderness trained. That night, his throat parched and painfully dry, he seriously contemplated his end. "Have I survived drowning only to die of thirst? Oh, the irony..." and it was then that he felt a warmth in his pocket. Pulling out the stone, he noticed with surprise that several of its symbols [576] were glowing with an eldritch light. "what the..." exclaimed Fred, dropping the stone as it grew painfully hot. When the stone hit the ground, several of its symbols flashed brilliantly, momentarily blinding Fred. Covering his eyes, he then heard a sharp crack and then the sound of... water? Indeed, upon opening his eyes he beheld the most wonderful sight, for water was now bubbling up beside the stone, which was no longer glowing. Fred did not take time to analyze this strange occurrence, such was his thirst. Diving down, he plunged his face into the cool sweet stream and drank his fill, coughing and sputtering. He then filled his waterskin that he just happened to have on him and re-pocketed the stone. After a good nights sleep, Fred observed that the water was still flowing up from the earth, but was not muddy or otherwise occluded. What was going on here?
What does Lord Fred do now?
