The Never Ending Quest - Episode 4551

Meanwhile, back where we left Lord Fred...
Lord Fred didn't actually believe that the man would try to complain to Sir Toby. The suggestion was meant as a joke! Afterall, Sir Toby was a childhood friend of Lord Fred. Everyone knows that Sir Toby supports Lord Fred completely. Anyone complaining to Sir Toby about Lord Fred's behaviour would surely be laughed at. But then Lord Fred remembered that he had been teleported to a mysterious new realm. Perhaps this was a different Sir Toby? But why would there be a Sir Toby from where Lord Fred came from *and* another one here?

When Hank left to complain, Lord Fred got down to exploring his new location. Ever since Fred met his older self and stepped through the door marked "Sir Pikachu's Quest", things just haven't been going his way. It was enough to give him a headache. The hidden door that Hank used to enter the room earlier was still visible. Since this room was now quite disgusting with the remains of Sir Pikachu's decapitated body cut into little pieces, Fred felt the hidden doorway was his best option.

Lord Fred leaves the room and enters into a brightly lit corridor. A sign over the door Fred just came out of reads "Extend-A-Story Copyrighted Material Crossover Division Extreme Litigation Hazard (if anyone asks, this division doesn't exist)."

Confused, frustrated, and angry, Lord Fred continues on down the corridor. Whatever this new storyline was, he knew he had to become more involved than whoever the main characters were. This presented a problem, since Lord Fred doesn't really know who the main characters are yet. Then Lord Fred remembered the man's reaction to Fred's suggestion that he complain to Sir Toby. The man acted as if Sir Toby was an authority figure and could resolve whatever the problem was. If Sir Toby was in charge, that might make him the main character. Lord Fred would just have to find this mysterious Sir Toby and find some way to become more important than him.

By this time, Lord Fred has made his way to another door. This door has a sign above it reading, "Extend-A-Story Wardrobe". Still unsure of exactly how to go about finding Sir Toby, Lord Fred decided that this door would be as good a place to start as any. As Lord Fred enters the room, he gasps as he sees what appears to be a room that is infinite in size. Signs hanging down from the ceiling appear to indicate various sections. A large number of sections appeared to be dedicated solely to Lord Fred. There are also sections for several people that Fred knows. However, Lord Fred was more worried about the massive number of sections for people he had never heard of.

Lord Fred spins all the way around while looking over the wardrobe room. Eventually, his attention returns to the door he just came in from. Just to the side of it is a bulletin board with several notices on it. One notice in particular catches Fred's attention, as it has Sir Toby's name written on it! Fred grabs the note and reads it.

From: Sir Toby
To: Script Writers and Wardrobe Department
Subject: Wardrobe Budget

I am pleased to report on the positive effects on our bottom line of keeping almost every princess that Lord Fred encounters, nude. The amount of money we are saving by purchasing clothing only for those princesses that truly need it is substantial. I'd also like to commend the creativity of the authors who decided to go with simple bandages or rags to clothe the princesses when the story required some sort of clothing for them. That little bit of brilliance has allowed us to go with a "one size fits all" approach to dressing the princesses. I am constantly amazed at the excellent work everyone has done to make Extend-A-Story the success it is today. Keep up the good work!

Lord Fred stood there pondering the message from Sir Toby for a moment. Could this be the reason why so many of the princesses he encountered were found without clothing? And this Sir Toby character... "Director of Operations." He *must* be important! Lord Fred now was certain that he had to locate Sir Toby and find some way to become more important than him.

Just then, the whole room lit up with red lights. A loud siren went off, followed by a booming announcement: "Warning! A story breach has been detected on level 23, Copyrighted Material Crossover Division. Lord Fred has escaped the story. I repeat, a story breach has been detected. Lord Fred is roaming free within the Extend-A-Story campus. Lord Fred was last detected in Wardrobe. Story Cops, please report to level 23, Wardrobe."

Lord Fred's heart raced. He didn't know exactly what the announcement was going on about, but he instinctively knew that if would be a problem if he got caught by these "story cops".

  1. Lord Fred leaves the wardrobe department to find another room to hide in, hoping he can stay one step ahead of the "story cops".
  2. Lord Fred retreats deep into the bowels of the wardrobe department. The place really was huge! He could probably hide in there as long as he needed to.
