Fred climbed up the bony crevasse of the sea-monster's throat for many
hours. Along the way he was attacked many times by horrid beasts with the
body of a puma but the face of a woman, who cackled seductive lullabies
to him even as they tried to rip his head off. But Fred easily beat back
these threats and soon reached a small plateau of pink gelatin lit by
glowing lantern fish.
