The Dragon Reconsiders

The dragon paused and lowered the sandwich from its lips. Amy continued: "That's right - I'm nothing but skin and bones. No self- respecting predator would even think about eating me. No siree!"

Glut lifted the top bun of the sandwich and began poking and prodding Amy's arms and legs. "See - there's not an ounce of fat on me at all!" The fit med student had stuck religiously to her morning 5-mile-run for years; she had never been more thankful for the ritual than she was this moment.

The dragon continued its inspection, pulling Amy's shirt up to reveal her flat stomach. The woman sucked in her gut and held her breath as the dragon's cold fingers pinched away.

"You're right," said the dragon, as Amy breathed a sigh of relief. "You're lean. I wouldn't call you scrawny, but there's not much fat on you at all."

As the med student began getting off the roll, Glut dropped the top bun on her again and raised the sandwich once more.

"What are you doing?" Amy shrieked. "Don't you agree - I'm as lean as they come?"

"Oh, I agree," answered the dragon, "and that's precisely why I'm going to eat you, my scrumptious delicacy. You see, my cholesterol level is sky- high, so I have to watch my intake of saturated fats. Lean brown meat is exactly what I'm looking for!"

Glut really enjoyed his Gujarati grinder.
