the Professor

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 3618

Lord Fred returned to his home in the Duchy of Suffex. It was good being back with his father the duke, yet Fred knew his mission was elsewhere. He quickly said his hellos and goodbyes and, gathering a few other supplies, rushed on horseback to the teaching academy of a very well-known professor: Master Lem Lennox d'Trois.

Once he was admitted into the center Lord Fred found himself waiting in the waiting room. He was unaccustomed to this as he was the son of a duke. Yet he bit his ego and waited, and waited and waited. Finally, unwilling to waste any more of his time he stood to leave. Then the door opened and in waddled a rather large and rather old -yet distinguished looking- gentleman.

"I am Master d'Trois," he said.

~~Finally!~~ thought Fred. Then Fred explained his royal mission, the signs he had found of the dragon, and his current dilema.

"Good," began the professor. "Now, which kind of dragon are you refering to? Is it the serpent that slithers? the wyrm that walks on legs? or the lizard that flys with wings?"

"I'm talking about THE Dragon!!! The Dragon of the Southern Caves!"

"Well then, you don't need to yell, my audio orifices work quite well young man. The dragon you refer to grows exceedingly big, and from its mouth casts forth a most pestilent breath, like unto thick smoke rising from a fire. At their destined time they gather together, and developing wings they begin--"

"I only asked about its bloody refuse! Its doo droppings!"

The professor ignored Fred's outburst and continued: "--they begin to raise themselves into the air. Then, by God's judgement, beng too heavy--"

"Shut up already!!! I only wanted to know about its gangly guano, its crisp crud, its anal opulence!!! I don't want a stupid lecture!!!"

"Well then," answered the professor. "I can't help you."

"AAAAAH!!" screamed Fred. "I've been waiting here for over two bloody hours and now you say you can't even help me?!!?"

"That's right. Now go away."

  1. Fred storms out of the office complaining about royal academicians and rides his horse back to his family's manor.
