The little knight's room

"I certainly hope so," Mike replied. "It would be quite an embarassment otherwise."

Fred sighed. "I do know how. I want permission to use yours."

"I don't have one."

"The store's!"

Mike nodded. "If you're a regular, you know the conditions. If you're not the answer is no."

Fred pondered. The store had two simple restroom rules. One, no weapons. This could be tricky in the current situation, but rules were made to be stretched. Two, paying customers only. Fred decided to deal with this first. If he made enough of a fuss Mike might even forget or ignore the other rule.

"I am a paying customer," he assured the clerk. "I just bought a lot of stuff the the other day. In fact, you were the one who handled my purchases."

"I don't remember that," Mike said regretfully. "But then we get a lot of customers. Did you keep the receipt? If not, we could check the surveillance crystal."

1. Fred says or does something that makes Mike remember him.
2. Fred has kept the receipt.
3. Check the crystal.
4. Resort to violence.
