Lord Fred boldly undertakes the study of the ancient scroll.

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 2979

Fred glanced over the scroll. Damn! he cursed inwardly. It wasn't written in the contemporary language of his homeland. Instead, the alphabet was an ancient venerable precursor of the vulgar "Yinglish" spoken today.

~~Now I wish hadn't skipped Ancient Languages class to play Joust with Baron Grossweiler's boys.~~ Fred mused. ~~Oh well. Nothing to do but bite the crossbow bolt.~~

"Aharum tauste millum rouh!" Fred pronounced loudly, reading the scroll the best he could. "Dejarnum whotro niste pallumvente! Gregarse ottep canum retro villes humus!"

The scroll crumbled into dust, and Velus began to glow. To his horror, Fred realized that he had mispronounced 'humus' - the ancient word for 'human' - as...

  1. ...'dumus' - the ancient word for 'werewolf'.
  2. ...'shumus' - the ancient word for 'circus mime'.
  3. ...'kumus' - the ancient word for 'brothel whore'.
  4. ...'hummus' - the ancient word for 'garbanzo bean dip'.
