To say that TW was unsure of what to do with himself was an understatement. A 15-year-old author who was stranded in a weird variant the EAS universe (which was actually somewhere in the Addventure Game 2 universe but never mind that) by the evil author version of Scott disguised as the ghost of Fred, he was clearly not qualified to face the Dragon, nor did he want to. But he didn't enjoy this loud party full of stupid people who were mostly older than him either. He just wanted to sit down and enjoy a good book.
No! He had to face the Dragon, at any cost. It was necessary to save the people of Allaria, and also probably the only possible way of getting back home. Maybe if he completed his task , Author Scott would consider his story over and send him back? What kind of hero am I anyway? he though. So he decided to leave this place to return to the Dragon's caves. He wasn't quite sure what, other than blind fear and stupidity, had motivated him to come here. He'd return to defeat the Dragon, and maybe if he was lucky find a naked woman chained to the wall to rescue. Maybe even a naked woman who liked Doctor Who... For now, though, he'd have to face the loneliness that went with being apart from the crowd. So he returned to Allaria (braving the crossbow bolts) and to the Dragon's cave. Oddly enough, it seemed to be raining in the immediate area of the Caves but not beyond. Maybe some defense mechanism of the Dragon? At any rate, he saw a campfire in the woods. It could be Orcs or Trolls or even Flamers, but it could also have useful allies. As he approached the camp, he saw that the people were human. So he cried out "Hello the camp!" He wasn't quite sure why he did, it just seemed like the right thing to do.
