"Well I don't know about unavenged," Fred told Belboz, "but you're
certainly not unappreciated. Now this here ole' dragon was a no-good,
welching snake without a nickel to his name. He owed money to everybody
fool enough to ante' up with him, from the Sweltering Jungles of the South
to the Frozen Wastes of the North and every place in-between. Everybody
wanted a piece of this wyrm, and to tell you the truth I think death was
too good for him. But you can't squeeze blood out of a turnip as they say,
so, since he refused to make good his debts he had to pay the big one. But
it's not a complete loss. When I get back to the Great Kingdom with this
dragon's head I'm going to get a big, whopping reward. And since you
helped me out and got me an instant appointment with the scaly one here,
well I think it would be just right if I split that reward with you.
What do you think. Split the reward, or get all necromantic on my butt?"
Belboz thought it over. He did need the cash. But the dragon had been his best friend. Certainly that must account for something. What to do, what to do...
