Fred vs. the AF Hercules Securi-tee Door

The pretty executive secretary to Mr. Big cowers in fear behind her mahogany desk. She wonders how this huge man, heavily armed, got through security. Typically it was enough for her to be well-organized, cheerful, and know how to be firm with pesky vendors. This barbarian thug from Allaria is something totally outside of her experience. Her mother would have been good at this sort of thing, but the executive secretary had managed to avoid the whole warrior thing, and had not thought much of it until now. Fred raises his muscular arm, broadsword in hand and slashes -- - toward a walnut door.

"Just tell me if that is Mr. Big's door, honey, and I will handle the rest," declares the knight. The terrified executive secretary, quivering in fear, quickly nods her head up and down.

"Thank you fair damsel. No perfidious moves, and you will remain unharmed."

While the executive secretary is looking up the definition of perfidious in the Abridged Aqualarian Tome of the Common Language, Fred walks, determined to force the action, to the walnut door. With a mighty kick with his steel-soled sandals, his foot meets the walnut veneer of an Aqualarian Foundries Hercules Brand Securi-tee Door, made of Dura-mark IV Alloy Steel.

1. ... and fastened by an AF Mercurial Lock, which failed with three years remaining on the warranty. The door swings open!
2. With a heavy clang, Fred reels backwards, failing to budge the door.
