It was a fortunate find. Fred had Velus stay with the Princess, who had
introduced herself as Astra, as he ventured forth. The odd marketplace, nearly a mile square, had all sorts of items for sale. Food too. Fred quickly bought many things. A set of leather clothes/armor for Astra that truly was one size fits all, thanks to the spells of the League of Magician Clothiers (Unionized In 1212). He also bought her a normal sword, two belt daggers, a wooden shield and a necklace charm that allowed her to detect most non-supernatural danger. (It wasn't perfect, it would not work during full moons). Fred bought himself a dark black wooden shield, two different colored belt daggers, a handful of caltrops and a charm that would allow him to perform one standing twenty foot long jump every two minutes. (This was paticularly expensive). For Velus he purchased leather boots charmed against heat and a collar that allowed him to verbalize simple concepts. There were literally dozens of other charms for purchase but Fred knew that three or more charms started to cancel each other out. Six or more were useless and ten, well, you might as well just throw yourself off a cliff and save Fate the trouble. The group regrouped at a small alove about twenty yards away from the marketplace. Now better equipped they venture around the market place and go further on. But wait...
