Lord Fred learns from his lesson. Perhaps he was a bit too hasty about
pressing the button. He looks around again. The only other option is to
pull the ring. The dog had indicated this is where he should be. Wary of
tricks and traps after the button incident, Fred looks around for signs of
trickery.
Sure enough, upon examining the ground he determines that it is designed to break apart when he pulls the ring. Lord Fred, being the ever resourceful adventurer, pulls out some rope from his pack. Very carefully he ties one end of the rope onto the ring. He takes the other end and walks away from the trap. When Fred is a safe distance away, he pulls the rope connected to the ring. A loud rumbling is heard, and sure enough the ground underneath the ring breaks away. Fred is also glad to see that pulling the ring also opened up the door. However, the trap has generated quite a large gap between Lord Fred and the doorway. Should our hero attempt to jump the gap, or try to find some other means over the gap?
