A Diplomatic Blunder

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 18732

Fred replied: "I am from Gelda and my companion is from Califie." Those two countries were, as far as he knew, on good terms with Hespan. Unfortunately for Fred, who was never quite up-to-date on court affairs, this couldn’t be farther from the truth.

Gelda was the leading exporter of Peppermint, and always did brisk business with Hespan, where a drink known as “The Grasshopper” was quite popular amongst locals and tourists alike. Unfortunately, Seville Smythe, the Prime Minister of Gelda, got greedy and started raising prices for Hespan, while still selling Peppermint at discount prices to Hespan’s competition for sun-drenched vacations…none other than Califie. It’s no coincidence that President Jermaine Jones was cousines with Smythe. The entire state of affairs was escalating, and in fact things were getting very close to war. Fred and Astra would almost certainly be seen as spies.

The men immediately arrested Fred and Astra. “I’m sure Governor Gilder would love to have a word with the two of you…come with us!”

Before long, our two hapless adventures found themselves in adjoining cells in the Palace Dungeon, awaiting an audience with the governor. “Nice work,” said Astra. “From now on, I’ll make the decisions and do all the talking.”

”Fine with me!” spat Fred. “What should we do now?”

  1. “Let’s try and escape!”
  2. “Let’s wait it out and wait until we talk to the Governor.”
