Oh, look who caught the bouquet. Like, I'm so surprised.

"Do you, Furry Ensign Samantha Wildman, take this man as your lawfully wedded husband, to honor and cherish, as both as long as you live?" says furry Janeway.

"I do." Wildman says. Both Scott and furry Janeway smile at that.

"And do you, Cadet Scott Chen, take furry Ensign Samantha Wildman as your lawfully wedded wife, to honor and cherish, as both as long as you live?" Janeway asks Scott. The crowd becomes strangely quiet, waiting.

"Yes, and longer, if I have ANY say in the matter." Scott says without a trace of hesitation. The last part brings a few blinks, and a few nervous laughs. Considering what they know about Scott, it could very well NOT have been a joke! Human Paris slips Scott the ring. Wedding rings are placed on fingers, and then . . . .

"Very well, I now pronounce you.....husband and wife." furry Janeway says. "You may now kiss the Bride!" Janeway finishes, with a smile is undeniably a smile (be it on a furry's face or a human face)!

The cheers and applause that the gathering gives is Definitely more than just polite, and the kiss that Scott and Samantha share is definitely NOT chaste! After an undetermined time latter, amidst the fireworks (the holographic ones that go off overhead and the ones that seem to surround both bride's and groom's head), they break their kiss enough so that Scott can whisper into his wife's ear. It might get him and Samantha a talking to latter, but not if she does this right . . . . .

"She's sitting right where we arranged her to." Scott whispers in a voice that only a furry with their heightened senses . . . .and one that is practically cheek to cheek. Furry Samantha Wildman smiles, and nods slightly.

The couple breaks their clinch. Organ music plays and rice is thrown by the Naomi twins (they make good flower children for the wedding). Furry Samantha throws the bridal bouquet over her shoulder. If Scott hadn't seen her practice this little . . . . prank that he and she had cooked up, he'd have sworn that it was just chance that the bouquet flies right at human Janeway. She catches it out of pure reflects, and looks slightly embarrassed as the crowd around her break into applause. She gives human Chakotay a slightly questioning glance, and he only shrugs. Both know what catching the boquet means, but both put it down as mere chance. Still, the way furry Wildman and Scott are laughing and smiling like the . . . proverbial cat who just ate the canary makes both of them wonder.

Questions will have to wait, because it is now time for the honeymoon. After the traditional cutting of the wedding cake, Scott takes his new wife up into his arms, crosses the threshold to their quarters (the Naomies are going to stay the night at a friends place). Now, I won't go into details, but . . . . well, let's just say that they consummate the marriage!

The next few weeks are interesting. Life for Scott, Samantha, and Naomi isn't a fairy tale, but it isn't like "Married with Children" either. Both Naomi's keep seeing both Seven of Nines in their quest to become members of the Bridge crew. Furry Samantha keeps having to do the occasional job around Engineering. As for Scott, he . . . . .
