And so Roland eventually succeeded in stabilizing the Tower. And then, life
went on, pretty much as it had. There were a number of large crises for the
Champions, and the Highest only knows how many smaller ones, but for the
Champions this was in itself a part of life. They enjoyed having adventures
and saving the universe (or most of them did), because this was their
nature. Freds and Astras appeared on Terra, people fell in love, people
married. Eventually, the Rules and Agents decided that everything was
getting far too complicated and decided to make it so that instead of
induction, new Champions would be recruited by inviting the descendants of
Champions to become Champions themselves at the age of 18. (As well as
anyone they may fall in love with, if they happen to be suitable Champion
material, to prevent inbreeding.) And so, ultimately, everyone lived pretty
much happily ever after.
