Amazingly, Fred is able to read the runes to himself (after all, they could be magical). "It must be the Flamebane Mail," Fred thinks to himself. The runes read as such: "The dragon you will slay is not an ordinary dragon; it is magic. Travel east through solid walls, when the silver moon falls. Mix water that is blackened but crystal clear with shards of stars. Pour over the undying flame to contact your Inner Self. Only when you have achieved this fusion will the dragon become mortal to thyselves." Total gibberish, in Fred's opinion, but might as well make note of it.

  1. Mull over the meanings of the mystic words.
  2. Ignore the instructions and go ahead.
  3. Try to read the runes in magic tongue (it might be a disguised magical spell).
