What a decision!

He wants to be a man, but to be an old man near the end of his life is an awful thought. To be a weak old man makes that a non starter for he has a quest to fulfill.

Taking all of this into consideration Fred knows that he must sacrifice his masculinity, and considering his current predicament he has little of that. The mighty Lord knows that he must make this sacrifice because at least then he will be fit and strong.

He communicates his decision to his tormentors.
