Search for a herb....

The elfin children, still suddenly filled with childish enthusiasms that overrode their adult common sense, giggled and pulled out various spell components that they kept on belts.

Before their awaking to their special nature, these special elfin children were bright and gifted....but still did not command enough power of the mind to yet to accomplish what they were now attempting.

Before their rebirth into these new elfin bodies, their adult common sense would have warned them against trying something like this, since it was so untried.....and dangerous.

But that is neither here or there, for they did it and it happened.

Rule 2 is going over the last of the files and such garnered from the Office of Evil. They'd been able to do a nice and proper job of neutralizing the senior upper management (i.e. the Higher Ups destroyed the lot of them), and now the Demons who'd filled their places were finally getting to the point where they could begin to demand those files back (so as to better be able to run their Office).

Oh, they'd get the files back. Just as soon as the Rules and Agents finished up with the last of them! After the last one was perused, they'd returned the lot of it all.....shredded into an unreadable confetti!

Why make it easy for the SOBs?

It still take another few decades before that happened....

But be that as it may, imagine the utter shock when under a pile of folders out popped the now revived Rayek (who's spell induced stasis had been disturbed by some elfin children of Terra Prime).

"We seem to have a small problem," the Rule says to himself as Rayek (looking confused and disoriented) fades from view.

And just how did we overlook this one? the Rule mutters to himself, wondering.

He contacts Rule 1 frantically, telling of this shocking turn of events!

Ti'mma and the others rush and soon find the frantic parents trying to rouse their children, but they are locked in spell trance....trying to bring forth and stabilize the now unconscious Rayek from Beyond.

Rayek, however, was stuck.

The children couldn't come out of it until Rayek got unstuck (which looked impossible). Either that, or until they died.

Soon, consulting the best mind for magic in the Elven Nation (i.e. the Emperor Ke'lan).

"I know of a spell that would work perfectly," the elf sighs, "But the problem is that the key component is....sniff.....of a herb that.....sniff....extinct?"

He turns and looks oddly at Annafrid and stares. This new woman (who'd not been introduced yet to him) smelled of the very herb he needed!

But I used the last samples of that when I created the Proxy body I now wear! he thinks to himself, surprised.

1. "Or maybe not, if what this young human woman smells of is what I think it is!" he says with rising hope....
