The Dame

As Lord Fred had dragged elus away from the dragon's remains, the floor had given away. The two of them were bruised by otherwise alright. Lord Fred had explored and found a tunnel leading upwards.

Securing the straps around his chest one more time (this left his hands free) he had ventured up. Halfway through, he saw his way was blocked by a 'dame', as the youngsters of the land would put it. The lady was leaning aginst the tunnel wall and aiming a crossbow at him. She had on long, skintight breeches and a thick, mud-slicked white shirt. She was fair to the eye, with blonde hair that reached her shoulders. Lord Fred saw that her left elbow was bandages in a reddish-brown rag.

Lord Fred put his hands up. The woman had him at a disadvantage.
"Greetings." he said. "May I pass? I do not know if my friend is ill and I must get help for him."
"Greetings. I am Alya. Are you a lackey of the dragon?"
"The dragon is dead, fair lady. The proof is behind me, up the boulders and down the tunnel. I killed him myself."
"Then will you help me find my companion? Astra? She had been kidnapped by the dragon."
"If I did not have my own companion in dire need of help, I would gladly join you. But I must get by!"

1. Alya lets him pass.
2. Alya does not let him pass.
