Fourteen skulls flew down the corridor towards them. They screamed
horribly. Most of them trailed spinal cords which were dripping with blood
and gore. The one at the back still had it's eyeballs and patches of
hair. Fred grabbed his sword and swept it upwards. Two skulls disintegrated under his blow. Then the battle was joined. Skulls swept all around, hooting and biting and whipping cords about. Fred got a shiner over his left eye. Astra's right shoulder was torn open from a sharp piece of bone. Then the good guys seemed to gain an advantage. Astra had found a sharp rock and was bashing skulls crazy left and right. Fred had destroyed three more skulls with mighty blows from his sword. Even Velus had disabled one by leaping onto it as it flew low and driving it into the dirt. (Fortunately it was a spineless one so it was not able to whip him).
