Fred was being eaten up inside by his behavior with Belboz.

Fred runs headlong out of the cave and leaps from the cliff, tears streaming past his face like a wet comet!
He watches as the ground rises up to meet him when suddenly that very Dragon whose eyes Belboz desired catches him mid-air!
The dragon looks Fred in the eye and says, "Let's do this."
Fred spies two towns below him, which one shall he burn to the ground?
