"Make it STOP!!!" wailed Lord Fred while Sir Josh only whimpered. But it
did not stop; the awful parade of silicon images continued on and on and
on.
After about five minutes of this both men were in a catatonic state... just as the Dragon had wanted! Even as the two men from Suffex, the son of the Duke and the Duke's second cousin thrice removed, lay sprawled upon the beach the very sand was again disturbed. Not by images but by the forms of five Chud*** as they dug their way up from some subterranean hole. They were four feet in height but with a girth that was surely the envy of the fat lady whose voice brought an end to each and every opera show held within the city-state of Vegas. They had claws which stretched out and grabbed our helpless heroes and slowly but surely they began to pull the two down into the sand, down into the very place from which they had come, down into yet another den within the demesyne of the Dragon! ***the Chud are canabilistic humanoid underground dwellers that are feared throughout the eastern coastlands of Havnheim. It is said that the now- gone city-state of Ib which was just south of Hespan was decimated by a horde of the chud on a cold winter's night... what is certain is that a traveling merchant arrived one cold winter's morning to find the place empty of people and full of holes. There were plates of cooked food on some tables and farm animals everywhere, but no people. Since that time the place has been left untouched by other land-barons or treasure-hunters for fear of what may still come up from those eerie holes.
