As they approach the abandoned fire and the goblins' captive, Astra's eyes adjust to the new light level and she realizes that what she thought was a naked person trussed up like a pig was actually something struggling inside a burlap sack that the goblins had painted a crude and scared-looking face on the outside.
"Goblins never change," Fred rumbles, quietly amused. "Reminds me of the time Sir Toby got caught in a goblin trap during a hunting trip. They took great mirth in mocking him too, right up until he cut himself free. Filthy cowards, the lot of 'em." "Must have been quite the sight. Aqualaria doesn't have as many swamps as Allaria does, we don't get nearly as many goblins. Gryphons, though - there's a lot of prime farmland in the Aetheros valleys that attracts them, especially in the autumn." Reaching the prisoner, Astra notices that the struggling inside the sack doesn't quite seem to follow human anatomy. "But I don't think they caught a knight this time. What-" Astra is cut by a ripping sound as the captive begins freeing itself from its bonds. The sack rolls over, revealing a small horn protruding from and tangled in the shredded fabric. A single eye with a slit pupil is visible through the small hole, an eye that glows a faint but fiery red. "Gleek?" comes a muffled, pathetic-sounding cry from the trapped creature. "By Artemis' bow," Astra swears quietly at the sight of the trussed-up baby red dragon.
