Meanwhile, Fred, Astra, Velus, and Exotica were continuing to talk to the girl. "First the Air Elementals sent a terrible storm with high winds which did a lot of damage," she said. "And the Water Elementals made the storm deliver such heavy rain that there was a lot of flooding. Then a few days later the Earth Elementals sent an earthquake that toppled most of the buildings that had survived the storm, and the Fire Elementals caused the earthquake to be immediately followed by a fire. After the fire, the few remaining survivors who had not already fled had no choice but to abandon the ruined city."

  1. "Everyone except you, it would seem," Fred said. "Why are you still here?"
  2. "But why would the Elementals do such a terrible thing to Themyscira?" Astra asked, bewildered as well as distressed. "It was a beautiful city and for the most part its people were good people."
