"But consider this," Minestus continued. "The Multiversal Mall can be considered to be everywhere and everywhen within the Multiverse simultaneously, whilst also being nowhere and nowhen. So that ought to mean that we will be perfectly safe from any unintended jump for all the time that we are here. Does that make sense?"
"No," Astra said bluntly. "But if you are determined to teleport then I suppose I shall have to take your word that it's safe and accompany you." "Good. Of course sooner or later this Starbucks will leave the Mall, and if we are still inside it then we will lose the protection that the Mall affords." So they teleported and, whether Minestus was right or they were just lucky, they arrived safely on the third floor. Right in front of them was a display of ladies handbags festooned with large "SALE!" signs. The star item was a beautifully crafted handbag of holding, though even reduced for the sale it was still priced at 25 gold pieces. "Oh look!" Astra said. "Let's stop. I could do with a handbag. Being without any pockets, I need somewhere to keep my possessions." "But my tomes!" whined Belboz. "Do we have to waste time here? You don't have any money so you can't buy a bag, and even if you had some money you don't have any possessions to put in one." "Not right now, perhaps, but I hope to acquire some before too long. I badly need a hairbrush and comb and a toothbrush, for instance. Not to mention I need somewhere to put my pay when I start to receive it. Minestus, would you be willing to give me an advance on my salary so that I can buy a bag?"
