Belboz took a step backward as Fred requests information about White Dragons. Be prepared, says Belboz, to take your first breath of the undead, for the White Dragon is made of bone and carries the icy stench of death. Steadily Belboz stands up. A fell wind blows through the stagnant air, grim and hopeless. Things would never be the same from this point forward, and Fred knew it.
Belboz begins his tale: The White Dragon dwells in the realm of the cursed necropolises. The dragon you seek nests in a very large, circular chamber. It is a terrible place. The dragon's chamber is a frozen hell that is surrounded by a wall of ice and wind. Stalactites and stalagmites of ice erupt randomly from the floor and ground. Several small Ice Elementals guard the entry path, and a massive Ice Elemental stands before the door of crystaline ice to bar all entry. Belboz pauses, looks at Fred, and says: No knight has ever returned from an encounter with the White Dragon .... at least, no living knight has ever returned. Belboz again pauses, looks thoughtfully at Fred, and says: I do know of a couple of knights who returned, and I tell you this so you understand fully what you are up against, but they returned as shuffling, dead ghouls. Rumor has it that they yet lurk somewhere in these caverns, but where I know not. After listening to Belboz, Fred felt empty, as if all life and emotion had been sucked out of him. Nevertheless, Fred stood resolute before the idea of facing the massive White Dragon of ice and death. Fred looks Belboz squarly in the eye and says, Old man, you tell a tale of great fear and foreboding. Nevertheless, I cannot deny my quest. The King himself has charged me with the slaying of the White Dragon, and slay the White Dragon I must do. Fred pauses for a moment to collect himself and then says, Belboz, pray tell me how to find the White Dragon.
