Fred the Red Dragon

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 10383

"The red dragon's the one for me," Fred said eagerly.

Belboz didn't appear too happy with the knight's choice. "The dragon you must face is also a red dragon. You would be too equally matched." Seeing he couldn't change Fred's mind, he sighed heavily. "Very well. On your own head be it."

The necromancer waved his hands and said some words that sounded like total gibberish to Fred. He felt a tingling sensation all over. Transmutation from one form to another was often a painful experience, so many such spells rendered the subject unconscious during the process.

A few moments later, Fred awoke - and almost bashed his head on the ceiling of the cave. To his utmost astonishment, the spell had worked. Fred would soon find out that he was almost identical to the dragon he came to the Southern Caves to fight. Belboz was nowhere to be seen, before he realised that he now towered over the necromancer quite significantly. Knowing Fred would be initially unsteady on his feet, Belboz had cast a spell around himself to prevent himself being flattened by the knight-turned lumbering lizard. Fred tried to speak...

  1. ...but discovered that his new form prevented him from doing so.
  2. ...and was rewarded with the sound of his own voice.
  3. ...and accidently released a superheated blast of flame that turned rock into slag.
