Astra's Speech

Astra stood to her feet, and attempted to bow towards the rest of the audience. In so doing, she collapsed and passed out. Is Astra that much of a lightweight that she can't take three double-scotches without saying goodnight?

Well, it wasn't so much that as it was that shadowy figure by the bar who had slipped some GHB into her drink. To what end? Who knows, for the figure had disappeared. "Astra?" said Scott "you ok?" She did not respond, being out cold.

"As the Princess appears to be deep in her cups," said Fred, taking back the mic as Scott shrugged and sat back down, "I will pull out the second part of my speech." There were multiple groans throughout the room. Lord Fred coughed, then gave the room a sweeping glare. He then took a breath, and began to speak again:

"The here there, now gone awareness that we are but mere bit players in the fullness of the manifold or as some say multiverse is a knowledge that you can deal with in one of two ways."

Someone yelled out "Booze, and lots of it!"

"ok, three ways." there was much scattered laughter "First, you can choose to ignore this knowledge, this deep truth, and pursue your own life to the exclusion of all else. There are many benefits to this approach. For indeed your world is a world unto itself, and for many the Manifold never comes into play. But for others, such as myself, Princess Astra, Exotica, Belboz, King Emry, and many others, such as our venerable MC... " Scott grinned, nodded at Lord Fred "this is just not an option for us. The Manifold has intruded on our lives. So, we do not abandon our world or our purposes, we still seek to slay dragons and rescue maidens and explore islands but we also are open to whatever should unfold."

Lord Fred smiled, continuing. "this is how we have matured leading up to episode one hundred thousand. We keep to our purpose when we can, but we do not fight the Manifold when it chooses to give us unexpected circumstances. I seek to slay the dragon, but I am also open to exploring staircases or highways, deal with all manner of insanity, sail on a dread pirate ship" Dread Pirate Lots whistled cheerfully from the cloud as Fred continued, picking up steam. "or whatever comes my way! I now know that there are an infinite number of universes, and an infinite number of versions of me, even, and I am ok with that! My quest is never-ending, sure, but the MANIFOLD is never-ending, and the lesson that I have learned is that you have to keep to your purpose, sure, but you also have to give up and love everything that comes your way! Thank you!"

There was massive applause as Lord Fred left the stage and Scott took the mic back. "Wow," said Scott, "that second part of the speech was absolutely killer. I would not want to follow it. But someone has to!"

1. Astra had awoken with the help of Belboz, and comes groggily up to make her speech.
2. Andrea, on her fifth drink, stands up and volunteers to make a speech.
3. Belboz, totally stuffed and mildly intoxicated, takes the stage.
4. King Emry decides it is his turn to say a few words.
5. Minestus turns into his dragon form and... nah he decides to give a speech instead.
6. Sir Josh gives an eloquent and moving speech about the power of friendship.
7. Josh Burbank gives a disturbing and annoying rambling purposeless speech.
8. Someone else...
9. Wait, what was the purpose of the shadowy figure giving Astra the GHB? and who is it?
