After the incident involving the Clamorous Chowder, and a lack of
earplugs, it was decided that the subscription to the Soup du Jour Club
had to be returned for something more tame. For whatever reason, I got
saddled with the task. I exchanged the original gift, and got a
subscription to the jelly of the month club instead.

A quick glance around the gift exchange seems to reveal that there are no
boxes to be opened. Then I remember that Chinese puzzle box. Of course.
Some devious committee member must have thought that the puzzle box would
be overlooked, thus causing a violation of FRC gift exchange traditions.

I grab the chinese puzzle box and go to work on it. A few moments of
concentrated effort reveals the trick to opening the box. Once the puzzle
box is opened, what is revealed is a box that is quite small and gold in
color, with some writing on it, barely visible, that reads, "McEue's
Annagram Box - Shout the Number, Win a Prize: 'furl mean city most
tease'," also with small holes on either side of the box, out of which,
delicate little wings spring out and begin to flap, the box begins to rise
into the air.

Ah. Another box that is near impossible to open. Fortunately for me, I had
to memorize all of McEue's annagrams at an early age. The puzzle is
clearly McEue's annagram #837 for "fantasy rules committee". I shout out,
"Fantasy Rules Committee - Number 837!" Suddenly, the box explodes. A
shower of colorful confetti spreads out over the entire committee, making
a terrible mess of things.

I look around and note that once again, I have left the committee without
any more unopened boxes with which to work with. All further rules must
leave at least one unopened box available when they are finished. To
correct the problem, I give three unopened boxes to FRC: a bright yellow
box with red stripes and a blue ribbon (FB29.99), a tremendous cardboard
box (FB124.99), and a shoebox (FB13.99).
